Pracar in Finland

Last Saturday, 19th April, I went to Kerava to do pracar where I was invited by one teacher of Psychology and Theology as well

I was picked in the train station by one of the seminar’s organizers with her car and we drove another half an hour further towards the countryside and we reached a beautiful retreat house near a big lake. That place was surrounded by pine tress and blooming yellow flowers ( I forgot its Finnish name) which are the first flowers of spring in Finland.

There were 23 students aged 18 -21 in that group. I gave a presentation on Tantra and its history followed by a asanas and relaxation. After the relaxation I gave a short presentation on Meditation and taught them how to meditate. I did a guided meditation to the students. My program lasted for 2 hours.

But it was very interesting that after my class, I was snatched by a group of nine 18 -19 year old girls from the Psychology teacher whom I was talking to after my class. They requested that they really wanted to discuss some things with me. Their teacher had no choice but to let me sit with them. They asked me to sit with them in the dining table and started asking me about my opinion of Finland, about God and why I chose to be a yogik nun. They held me for at least 2 and ½ hours. They were really intelligent girls and I was thinking they are also potential margiis or LFT’s. They are mostly Lutheran kids and they were very pleased about my answer when they asked me how many Gods are and I told them that there is only one but He is called by many in different names. I explained to them that there are many paths – some are longer, some are shorter and some are direct path to God. But, in the end, we will reach him if we have deep love for Him. And when we have deep love for Him, then we have deep love for His creation, too.

We discussed about yoga and spiritual practices which they enthusiastically listened, too. The organizers had to tell them to release me already after such a long talk because they needed to drive me back to the train station so I can travel back to Helsinki.

And when I was nearly leaving the door, they all told me that our meditation was really good because they were able to concentrate and breathe properly. They said that one lady yoga teacher came there the day before to teach meditation but they did not feel that relaxed. They also said that they felt nice internally and they liked our meditation best. The teachers who were present there also gave the same remark and they said that they did not make any mistake in contacting Ananda Marga to teach yoga and meditation to their students.

All in all, it was a really wonderful experience for me to meet them all.

In Baba’s loving care,
